"The person who looks inside, awakens.” - Carl Jung
Hypnosis is, for most, a pleasant experience somewhat like daydreaming. A hypnotic trance induces profound relaxation, allowing you to experience your deeper, inner self and leave behind your everyday concerns. In a trance state your ability to rearrange unhealthy, potentially destructive perceptions is greatly enhanced. You experience a much-needed quieting of your thoughts.
As your critical, analytical mind relaxes, your intuitive, receptive mind opens. You become amenable to therapeutic suggestions about weight loss, overcoming test anxiety or pain, or ending bad habits like smoking.
The Mayo Clinic sites preliminary research showing that hypnosis helps reduce fears, stress and anxiety, reduces labor time and childbirth pain, as well as pain in dental or surgical procedures, relieves IBS symptoms, lowers blood pressure, controls the nausea from chemotherapy, reduces headaches, and hastens the healing of skin problems.
Hypnosis can be performed in a regular therapy session of 50 minutes, either in one session or as a part of a larger treatment plan.

Hypnosis for Labor and Delivery
To ease the anxiety and unnecessary pain of childbirth, I offer hypnosis, specifically designed to ease your mind and help you enjoy the birth. It is not necessary to have had hypnosis or psychotherapy before. You can schedule for this one purpose alone, if you’d like. Sessions are 50 minutes and you can do one or many, according to your needs and preference. It can be very helpful to have this special preparation to prepare you for the upcoming event and to enhance your birthing experience. You can schedule as soon after conception as you like.
Common Myths
Does a hypnotist have control over me? No, she simply serves as a guide. You always have control over yourself. In fact, if you want, you can open your eyes at any point and end the session.
Must I surrender my will to be hypnotized? No. Actually, hypnotism is often used to strengthen a person’s will or resolve. In this state of heightened focus, you are more in touch with your decisions than outside a trance.
Will I remember what happened? Yes, almost everyone does. A person in a deep enough trance might not remember, but I always give a hypnotic suggestion that you will, in fact, remember everything that occurs.
What if I can’t be hypnotized? Almost everyone can be. If you don’t actually enter a trance, you can still benefit from the relaxation, imagery, and affirmations.
